Nothing works

Hi everybody,

I hope it's ok that I'm writing in English, because I'm not so confident in my German. Please excuse me for that.

Long story short I have a website about the alternative fashion outoftrend.com. It exists for already 1.5 years and now I'm kind of finding myself on the crossroads because I've done a lot to make it well-attended and nothing really worked. I mean it had the attendance of 35-50 people daily a year ago and the it's still the same. I tried a lot of stuff which was basically around making more and more various content and working on SEO. As I say now I'm starting to think I was worthless.

Why I'm writing it - I'd be glad to get any ideas or suggestions you'd be so kind to give me. Right now I'm clueless. I still love the idea of the website, but I've no clue how to find the audience for it and how to get any attendance. Or should I just sell it? :) What would you say?

Thanks!

Well I've got a few questions: Where would you like to rank with the page? Google.de on which searchterm?

E.g. Google.com has an output of roughly 700 million pages on "out of trend clothes" and to rank there you need a lot of good quality links apart from the content. As you sell you should go https but that alone won't bring you to the top.

Well, I wasn't aiming to some major keywords like "fashion" or "alternative fashion", because I know it would be crazy to expect any success here. I was going mainly for the brand names and related words like "New Rock" (footwear brand) and "New Rock goth boots", something like this. And I don't think it works. I definitely lose something huge...

I don't sell, sorry, it's a website about the alternative fashion, but I don't sell anything, it's just information, pictures and reviews. Though I already switched for HTTPS as we all should :)

About 19,900,000 for "New Rock goth boots" is still quite large, brandname Reviews like footwear brand review still get 278 million results. The only site not sporting the keword has 27 backlinks more than your site has. New Rock goth boots review 6.8 million with most of the keyword domains fighting for first places.

Do you mean it's the root of the whole problem?

If you aim for the sites which are on top of those search terms than you'd need to have link profile similar to theirs. Wouldn't do harm to have the same amount of content, best unique and nicely written.

Compare onpage and offpage and do similar, my suggestion.

Thank you, but what's "onpage and offpage"?

Here you find some of it:

Its not all what is to on and offpage SEO. 200+ Rankingsignals there are, most are not too clear. Don't try something out what was not proven (by yourself).
